Projeto Maria Lucia Cattani é uma iniciativa com o intuito de manter vivo o legado artístico de Maria Lucia Cattani (1958 -2015) em várias vias:

Projeto Maria Lucia Cattani is an initiative aimed at keeping alive the artistic legacy of Maria Lucia Cattani (1958-2015) in several ways:

• Preservação e conservação das obras do espólio da artista 
• The preservation and conservation of works in the artist’s estate

• Exposições e projetos de curadoria com as obras da artista
• Exhibitions and curatorship projects with the artist’s works

• Residências de artistas convidados para trabalhar nos ateliês da artista e montar uma exposição conjunta com obras selecionadas do espólio
• Residency programmes for artists invited to work in the artist’s studio and create a joint exhibition including works selected from the estate 

• Editoração de obras gráficas com ligações com o trabalho de Maria Lucia Cattani, e mesmo dar continuação e desenvolvimento a projetos inacabados da artista.
• The publication of print works with connections to the work of Maria Lucia Cattani, and also the continuation and development of the artist’s unfinished works

O Projeto Maria Lucia Cattani é uma iniciativa do viúvo da artista com conselheiros dos ramos de historia e preservação de documentos, historia de arte, curadoria, gravura, editoração, e conta com a colaboração especial da Galeria Gestual e do Museu do Trabalho em Porto Alegre.

Projeto Maria Lucia Cattani has been developed by the artist’s widower with advisors from the fields of history and preservation of documents, art history, curatorship, printmaking and publishing, and the special collaboration of Galeria Gestual and Museu do Trabalho in Porto Alegre, Brazil.

O Projeto começou em 2016 com o lançamento do vídeo ‘Shadowlands’ editado por Nick Rands com filmagens da artista, a exposição Gestos e Repetições com curadoria de Maristela Salvatori e Paulo Silveira e a publicação do livro A Última Parede / The Last Wall, sobre o último trabalho de parede da artista, publicada pela editora MarcaVisual.

The project began in 2016 with production of the video work Shadowlands, edited by Nick Rands with footage by Maria Lucia Cattani, the Exhibition Gestos e Repetições curated by Maristela Salvatori and Paulo Silveira with a catalogue published by Insituto de Artes, UFRGS, Porto Alegre, and production of the book A ÚlitimaParede | The Last Wall, about the artist’s final wall work, published by MarcaVisual.

Em 2017 o projeto continua com o projeto piloto de residência de artista com o artista convidado Pete Lawrence. Pete Lawrence chega em Porto Alegre no dia 2 de outubro de 2017 e a exposição abre no dia 2 de dezembro 2017 na Galeria Gestual. O artista vai também produzir uma gravura no Museu do Trabalho, que entrará no consórcio de gravuras em 2018.

The project continues in 2017 with the pilot artist residency programme and invited artist Pete Lawrence. Pete Lawrence arrives in Porto Alegre in early October and the exhibition opens at Galeria Gestual on December 2, 2017. The artist will also be editioning a print at the Museu do Trabalho, which will join the Museu’s print subscription scheme in 2018.
